The bipolar resectoscope (VISTA system, ACMI Corporation) uses a cutting loop (5 mm loop wire diameter)

and a second loop, bent in the same direction, working as return electrode.

Both are placed on the same axis on the resectoscope and the current flows between them, providing a localized energy field.
