What is a thoracic trocar catheter?

Thoracic duct. Thoracic ducts provide effective drainage after thoracic surgery. Catheters are placed intraoperatively to remove gas and fluid deposits in the pleural space and help restore and maintain pressure.

 

Our thoracic catheters with Trocar are used for rapid non-surgical pleural and thoracic drainage, allowing safe and effective penetration and accurate placement. The product comes with a blunt tip trocar for easy penetration, placement and handling. It is primarily used to relieve life-threatening chest conditions, such as tension pneumothorax, and to safely perform traditional chest drainage insertion methods using an open or blunt-tipped trocar.
